Ramadan Mubarak from Gungahlin Masjid

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Dear Community Members,

Gungahlin Masjid follows ACT Imam Council, and as announced, the first day of Ramadan will be Thursday, 19 February 2026. Our first Taraweeh prayer will be held tonight 18 February 2026  after Isha (Isha Iqamah at 9:30pm).

As an inclusive and united community, we also acknowledge and respect those who follow Australian local moonsighting. Our brothers and sisters observing 29 Sha’ban today will commence Ramadan according to the outcome of tonight’s moon sighting, meaning Ramadan may begin for them on 19 or 20 February 2026.

May this blessed month bring peace, mercy, and unity to our entire community.
