Gungahlin Masjid Canberra app privacy policy

The Gungahlin Masjid Canberra app helps you use the mosque timetable, read and listen to the Holy Qur’an, find duas and stay informed about community activities. This policy explains how your choices stay on your device and how optional device permissions are used.

What we do not collect or send

The app does not ask for your name, email address or an account. It does not send your saved preferences, favourites, bookmarks, playlists, event interests, daily check-ins, Sunnah routines, progress or Qur’an reading position to Gungahlin Masjid or another service. We do not use this information to identify you or build a profile of your activity.

Information saved on your device

The app saves the choices you make so they are available when you return. Depending on the features you use, this can include notification and display settings, favourites, bookmarks, playlists, event interests, daily check-ins, Sunnah routines and progress, and your chosen place to continue reading the Qur’an. It can also cache content and save audio or Mushaf-related assets that you choose to download for offline use.

This information is held on your device. The app does not provide an account or automatic sync of these personal choices to another device. You can remove individual saved items in the app where the feature provides that option. Removing the app or clearing its app data through your device settings can remove locally saved information and downloads.

Location, compass and notifications

If you open the Qibla Finder and grant location permission, the app uses your current location to calculate the direction and distance to the Kaaba. Your location stays on your device. You can change location access in your device settings.

If you enable notifications and grant permission, the app schedules the reminders you choose, including prayer and community reminders, on your device. You can change your choices in the app and control notification permission in your device settings. 

Advertising and analytics

The app does not display third-party advertising or use an in-app advertising or analytics service to track your activity across apps and websites.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or the services it uses change. The updated version will appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
