[CONTINUE] - Good and Bad Characteristics, Their Impact on Our Lives - by Imam Mahmodul Hassan

Second Khutbah
Summary of today's Khutbah

In this khutbah, we will reflect on two qualities that beautify a believer’s heart and raise his status in the sight of Allah: Ikhlas (sincerity) and sabr (patience). We will discuss how sincerity protects us from the disease of Riya (showing off) and how patience helps us remain firm through life’s trials and challenges. These qualities purify our deeds, strengthen our faith, and lead us towards the pleasure of Allah and success in the Hereafter.

Allah subahanaho wa ta’la says:

إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى الصَّابِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without measure.”
(Surah Az-Zumar 39:10)

And the Messenger of Allah PBUH said:

إِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ

Actions are judged only by intentions.
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Through sincerity, our deeds become accepted; through patience, our faith becomes stronger. Together, they are among the greatest qualities that lead a believer to the mercy of Allah and the gardens of Paradise.
