Summary of today's Khutbah
All praise is due to Allah, who commanded us to honor our parents and made it a cause of His mercy.
Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in the quran
﴿وَقَضى رَبُّكَ أَلّا تَعبُدوا إِلّا إِيّاهُ وَبِالوالِدَينِ إِحسانًا﴾
(And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you show kindness to your parents.) [Al-Isra: 23]
The Prophet ﷺ said:
«رِضَا الرَّبِّ فِي رِضَا الْوَالِدِ، وَسَخَطُ الرَّبِّ فِي سَخَطِ الْوَالِدِ»
(The pleasure of the Lord is in the pleasure of the parent, and the anger of the Lord is in the anger of the parent.) [Tirmidhī]
In this khutbah, we will explore how we should treat our parents, what our responsibilities are towards them, and how to reflect on our own actions in showing love, respect, and obedience.
