Dear Community Members,
The Canberra Muslim Community Inc. (CMC) established the Hafiz Al-Qur’an School (HQS) at the Gungahlin Mosque in 2022 to deliver high-quality Qur’anic education for children in Canberra and the surrounding regions.
Alḥamdulillah, the school now serves over 300 students, operating on Saturdays and Sundays, with a growing waiting list reflecting strong community trust, confidence, and engagement.
The Gungahlin Mosque HQS operates under CMC and is currently managed by the Imam and Director of Education of the Gungahlin Mosque, Dr Hatem Saad.
Our next goal, Insha’Allah, is to expand the program to operate five days a week. This expansion will enhance access to Qur’anic learning and further support the nurturing of future generations firmly grounded in the Book of Allah (SWT).
We pray that Allah (SWT) grants success, sincerity, sustainability, and lasting benefit to this noble initiative.
