Time Management from the Qur’an and the Sīrah - by Imam Hatem Saad

First Khutbah - 1:00 PM by Imam Seikh Hatem Saad

Summary of today's Khutbah

This khutbah highlights how Islam teaches us to value, honour, and manage our time through the guidance of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. It reminds us that the true issue is not a lack of time, but how we prioritise and use the time Allāh has given us.

The khutbah focuses on three essential principles:

  • Investing time with Allāh
Never rush your ṣalāh, Qur’an, or adhkār. Time spent with Allāh brings barakah into the rest of your day and increases your productivity in ways you cannot measure.

  • Avoiding time-wasters
Reduce unnecessary entertainment, social media scrolling, and distractions. Wasted time is more damaging than wasted wealth, because time can never be recovered.

  • Following the Prophetic routine
Sleep early, wake early, and benefit from the blessed morning hours. Maintain a disciplined, healthy, and purposeful daily schedule, mirroring the lifestyle of the Prophet ﷺ.

Overall, the khutbah calls every Muslim to re-evaluate their habits, remove distractions, and build a life that is centred around worship, discipline, and purposeful action.
