Notice of Annual General Meeting Including Election and Appointment of the Election Panel Chair - 8th November 2025 at 10:00am

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Pursuant to Section 24 of the CMC constitution, the Executive Committee (EC) of the Canberra Muslim Community (CMC) Inc. is pleased to announce the holding of Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the financial year 2024-2025 as follows:
Date: Saturday 8th November 2025
Time: 10:00am – 11:00am (for agenda items 1 – 4)
Venue: Gungahlin Masjid, 140 The Valley Avenue, Gungahlin, ACT 2912
Election Panel Chair – Mr Rana Rahim
As the two-year term of the current EC concludes at this AGM, the EC has appointed Br Mr Rana Rahim as the Chair of the Election Panel. Br Rahim will InShaAllah manage the election matters as per clause 14 of the constitution of the CMC. Please note that, as per the clause 14(2)(b)(i) of the constitution, the last date for submitting nominations of candidates for the election of CMC EC members is 25 October 2025.

The Election Panel Chair will InShaAllah provide details of the nomination lodgement procedure by 22 October 2025.
Agenda items
- Confirm minutes of previous AGM (2023-2024) held on 16 November 2024.
- Report on the activities of the CMC during the 2024-2025 financial year.
- Financial reports and statements for the 2024-2025 financial year.
- Members’ business.
- Election of the Committee Members (i.e. the new EC) to be conducted by the Election Panel.
If you wish to add any agenda item(s) for the AGM, please send those to the Secretary by the email ec@gungahlinmosque.org.au by Friday, October 24 2025. Full agenda will InShaAllah be circulated no later than Saturday 1st November 2025.
Eligibility
All approved General Members for financial year 2024-2025 who are aged 18 years or over with legal residency in ACT will have the full right to stand for Committee Member position (i.e. a position within EC) and to vote at the election to be held on 8 November 2025.
All approved Life Members aged 18 years or over with legal residency in ACT will have the full right to stand for a Committee Member position (i.e. a position within EC) and to vote at the election to be held on 8 November 2025.
