السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Dear members,

To ensure the AGM is run in accordance with the COVID-19 restrictions, physical attendees at the Masjid will be limited; others will however be able to attend virtually via Zoom.

  4. Zoom can be accessed either via web browser or via the app.
  5. During the meeting, please show respect for others by not speaking or making noise that will make it difficult to hear the presentations, questions, and answers.
  6. Online (Zoom) participants should always keep themselves on mute during the AGM proceedings, unless they have been given opportunity to ask questions. Participants will need to virtually raise hands (using option in Zoom) to ask question. Questions can also be asked using the Zoom comments section.

Attendance procedure - Election

  2. No nominees or supporters will be allowed to 'campaign'  on the Gungahlin Masjid grounds during the Election.
  3. The Gungahlin Masjid grounds includes the masjid building itself, the parking lots, the classroom building areas, the courtyard, etc.
  4. Security will politely ask anyone to leave who they feel is 'campaigning' members to vote or not to vote for nominees.
  5. The voting and counting process will be as per letter sent out to voters by the Election Panel Chair Br Brice Hamack.

 Agenda Item
Documents related to Items (1-3) will be available online closer to the meeting (click here)

 Item 1
Confirm minutes of previous AGM (2019-2020) held on 25 July 2020.

 Item 2
Reports on the activities of the CMC during the 2020-2021 financial year.

 Item 3
Financial reports and statements for the 2020-2021 financial year.

 Item 4
Members' business:

  1. Membership (submitted by Br Altaf Hossain)
  2. Outcome of "no confidence motion" against the EC (submitted by Br Murad Hossain)
    • What were the allegations raised against the CMC EC that ended up few members to call for a "No Confidence Motion". How was it handled by the EC and what was the outcome in the end? Why the elected members of the CMC EC 2019-21 Dr Shahidul Islam and Dr Masud Hasan did not continue; did they resign or what happened to their positions following the "no confidence motion" incident?
    • What are the reasons for decreasing CMC general membership fees from $100 to $40: I would like the $100 general membership fee to be reinstated.
    • Has the CMC EC taken any disciplinary action against its Life Member Mohammed Yunus in accordance with clause 11 of the CMC Constitution, if so what are actions taken to date? In my view, Mr Yunus is liable of breaching clause 11(1)(c) of CMC Constitution and should have been expelled under clause 11(1)(d). I can see from a recent CMC communication that Mr Yunus has been deemed suitable to run for an EC Member position in the upcoming CMC election. I would like to express my utmost dissatisfaction towards the current EC for not dealing with this matter in a manner that is in accordance with the constitution and request their response at the upcoming AGM.

We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday the 13th InShaAllah.

جزاكم الله خيراً
