Parking Concerns Raised by the Community
Assalamu alaikum Dear Community Members,
Concerns about unsafe and illegal parking near the Gungahlin Mosque have been brought to our attention by members of the community. In addition, the Communications and Traffic Compliance division of Access Canberra has also noticed these issues.
Common Parking Violations
Several parking violations have been observed, including:
- Parking on verges
- Obstructing footpaths
- Occupying parking spaces in front of apartment units
- Parking on medians
- Parking at intersections
These actions not only pose safety hazards but also inconvenience other road users and local residents.
Penalties for Illegal Parking
In response to these concerns, the Access Canberra team will begin issuing penalties for illegal parking in the areas around the mosque. It is crucial that we all adhere to parking regulations to avoid fines and ensure the safety and accessibility of our neighborhood.
