Why does Allah take oaths on the Sun, Moon, time and other entities in the Quran in different Surahs?

Question:
Why does Allah take oaths on the Sun, Moon, time and other entities in the Quran in different Surahs?
Answer:
Asalamu'alaikum Brother, and thank you for your question.

The general principle regarding oaths, is that Allah can swear by any of His creation, whereas the creation can only swear by Allah.

The essence of an oath is to honor and venerate that which is sworn upon, which is why we are only allowed to swear by Allah.

As for Allah swearing by his creations, then this is to draw our attention to this great creation so as to reflect upon it and upon its magnificence, and in doing so it should draw us closer to Allah, the One who created it and controlls it.

And Allah knows best.
